Samuel Byndom is: a Black American who recently moved to San Antonio, TX and now calls it home. He has been married for 15 years to his exceptional wife and together they have three amazing children. His teenage daughter keeps him on his toes and brings joy to his life, while his two adolescent boys keep him feeling youthful. Samuel is a veteran with over 20 years of military and professional experience, with a focus on leadership, education, social and racial justice, curriculum development, and civic engagement. 

Throughout his career, he has held various roles in p-20 education, including Associate Professor, Assistant Superintendent, and Director of Adult & Continuing Education. He is also actively involved in the San Antonio community through board service and volunteering. In his free time, Samuel enjoys singing karaoke and traveling with his family. He is a true believer in the transformational power of education and holds several degrees including a BA in History from Millikin University, a MA in History from the University of Missouri St. Louis, a MA in Teaching from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville, and a Ph.D. in Education Policy, Organization, and Leadership from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
