Jaime is: a Tennessee native, wife and dog mom, doting daughter, and policy wonk. In the fall, she can be found cheering on the Vols and enjoying the mountains. A white woman and bitter southerner who strives to live empathetically, Jaime is an avid reader and podcaster who loves recommendations about what to read and listen to next. She firmly believes all students deserve access to an equitable education and often this requires prioritizing the needs of students over the comfort of adults. Jaime began her eleven year career in education as a Teach for America corps member in Charlotte, NC, before moving to Nashville to work at the Tennessee Department of Education in a variety of roles in human capital and educator evaluation. She holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville and an MPP from Vanderbilt University.
